Two-day Brahmaputra Mahotsav kicks off in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: In commemoration with Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav, the two-day Brahmaputra Mahotsav organized by the district administration kicked off on Thursday with an eco-walk rally that started from Dibrugarh Municipality Board’s office.

The rally culminated at Puja Ghat located on the bank of River Brahmaputra followed by cleanliness drive on both sides of Puja Ghat and drawing and essay competition among all age group people. To mark the occasion, the historic Raidongia Doul at Lezai Kolakhowa areas was illuminated by glittering light.

On the closing day on December 17, a cycle rally from the DC office here to Sessa Bridge at Khanikar Road intersection will be flagged off at 7 am. Yoga Training camp will be held at the Multipurpose Inter Sports Stadium at Khanikar at 8.30. P.M

Irrigation Minister Pijush Hazarika will inaugurate the cultural function in the evening as chief guest where local MLA Prasanta Phukan will attend the function as honored guest.
