Police recover 31 bags of cannabis at Naharlagun

NAHARLAGUN: Acting on a tip-off that an unknown husband-wife duo is supplying narcotics in the capital region, a special team was constituted consisting of SDPO Naharlagun Dekio Gumja, Inspector Khiksi Yangfo OC PS Naharalgun, SI S.S Jha, Ct Kanto Samyor and Ct Sandeep Yadav to develop the information and cause the arrest of the said supplier.

Speaking o the media, SP-Jimmy Chiram informed that, while working on the technical surveillance, human Surveillance, and round up in the suspected addresses police team confirmed that a husband and wife identified as Tadar Chada and his wife Tadar Kampung are storing cannabis in huge quantity at some hidden spot in their house located at Gollonallah, Kankarnallah, Naharlagun.

Police team led by Chiram Dekio Gumja SDPO Naharlagun, Insp . K Yang, SI S.S Jha, HC Iter Ngomdir, Ct K.Samiyor, Ct Sandeep Yadav, Ct Lham Tsering, Ct Raj Tamang, Ct Tape Hanging, Ct CM Chowlik, Ct J. Poyom, Ct B.J Borough, Lct Kime Rija, Ct Nabum Talo, Ct Debojit Borah, Ct Chungju Nilling, Ct Gaju Rai with 186 Bn B coy Led by Insp AP Singh CRPF and Executive Magistrate Likha Radh SDO conducted a raid at the house of Tadar Chada on 24 June last at around 1800 hours.

During a search operation, the police team found 31 bags containing suspected cannabis weighing 525.97 kilograms worth Rs 52,50000( Rs fifty-two lakhs, fifty thousand only), cash Rs 50,000, one Indian-made pistol of .32 calibre and one Fortuner car bearing no- AR-01-Q-9779 suspected to be proceeds of the drug trade was found and seized, stated the SP.

Further, police registered a case vide NLG PS CASE NO-82/22 U/S 20 (b)(li)(C)/27a/29 NDPS and arrested one Tadar Kampung W/O Tadar Chada, however, her Husband Tadar Chada was not at the house during the raid, informed the SP.
