Nagaland Lokayukta dismissed the complaint against Dy CM Patton

Nagaland Sept 20-2020: Former student leader Vicca S Aye had filed a complaint against the deputy chief minister of Nagaland Y Patton on charges of “abuse of power and manipulating the result of Nagaland Public Service Commission. The Lokayukta of Nagaland dismissed the complaint on the grounds of lack of evidence on 18th September 2020.

“On due consideration, all allegations made against Mr Y Patton, deputy chief minister of Nagaland in the impugned complaint are found to be devoid of substance in the absence of any prima facie evidence to connect him with such allegations and to engage the attention of the Lokayukta any further,” The Lokayukta said on the order.

As mentioned in the order the deputy cm has denied the “allegations by saying that they are baseless, malicious and politically motivated” and that on “account of tribalism, the complainant has espoused the case of his political rivals by making sweeping and omnibus allegations which are not based on his personal knowledge”.

The Lokayukta further said “The complaint has been submitted in haste with deficient facts. The lokayukta is not supposed to indulge in roving enquiry with a view to fish out materials and evidence to prove non-scientific, bald and omnibus allegations made in the complaint. Thus the complaint deserves to be rejected and is accordingly dismissed”
