Thoubal, June 04 2022: Altogether seven persons who were pulled up by police in connection with the controversial death of Md Abdullah were sent to jail today.
Korimayum Abdullah of Yairipok Changamdabi Makha Leikai was found dead on May 23 in Imphal River at Arong Khunjao Makha under Arong Nong-maikhong police station.
The seven accused identified as Tabasum (21) d/o Md Hakim of Keibung Sanasibi Leirak, her elder sister Rajina Begum (35), Rajina’s husband Md Mujibur Rahaman (47) s/o late Rafiuddin of Lilong Nungei, Md Aslam alias Ningthou of Thoubal Moijing, Md Baksar (29) s/o Md Yusuf Ali of Yairipok Ningthounai, Sajish Khan (28) s/o Md Helal of Yairipok Ningthounai and M Tarique Aziz (27) s/o M Seraj Ahmed of Yairipok Tulihal were produced before a Court at Thoubal today.
As they were produced before the Court, a large number of people gathered at the Court complex shouted slogans demanding befitting punishment for all the culprits involved in the alleged murder of Korimayum Abdullah.
The JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Md Abdullah convenor Md Ayub Kori said that they called off all types of agitation including State-wide general strike after Chief Minister N Biren assured that all the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Abdullah would be established and everyone found guilty would be awarded befitting punishment as per law.
