Manipur: NRFM calls 24-hours State-wide bandh on Sept 21

IMPHAL, Sep 18-2020: Challenging the validity of the Merger Agreement signed on September 21, 1949, the  National Revolutionary Front Manipur (NRFM) has called a 24-hour State-wide bandh on September 21.

According to a press release issued by NRFM information and publicity secretary Sanajaoba Meitei, king Bodhchandra was invited and made to sign the Merger Agreement under duress at Shillong by the Government of India.

The history of Manipur being a sovereign Nation which spanned over 2000 years is an undeniable fact and no power has the right to usurp the sovereignty of Manipur, it asserted.

The outfit further informed that medical services, power, water supply and media would be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
