Manipur: Governor accepts dropping of three Cabinet Ministers proposed by CM Biren

Imphal Sept 24-2020: In midst of rapidly developing political changes in the Manipur government and inside the BJP party itself, there is a constant report of major speculation of the cabinet reshuffle.

Today, Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla has accepted the Chief Minister N Biren’s proposal on dropping three cabinet ministers.

Recalling on September 23 the Chief Minister of Manipur Shri N Biren Singh already proposed for dropping of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister V Hangkhalian, Social Welfare, and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen, and Education, Labour and Employment Minister Dr Th Radheshyam from the state Council of Ministers. Following the proposal, the governor announced the acceptance of it in a statement on Thursday morning.

“I have accepted the dropping of the following ministers (mentioned above) from the Council of Ministers as proposed,” Najma said in the statement.

The three new faces likely to be sworn in this evening are Okram Henry Singh of Wangkhei A/C, Oinam Lukhoi Singh of Wangoi A/C, and Vungzagin Valte of Thanlon A/C. Henry and Lukhoi defected from the Congress party recently. Further, the NPP has also been given a deadline to give two names to be dropped from the current council of ministers, sources said.

Also earlier a resignation letter claims to be from Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian went viral in social media. However, another letter claiming to be signed by the minister surfaced, where it was clearly clarified that the resignation letter earlier circulated in the social media was fake and false claimed.
