Manipur: Court Acquits Former ADC Chairman Lukhosei Zou In Drug Seizure Case

Former ADC Chandel chairman Lukhosei Zou has been acquitted by the Special Court (ND&PS) Manipur

Imphal Dec 17, 2020: After two and half years since the seizure of large amount of contraband drugs and hard cash from his residence, former ADC Chandel chairman Lukhosei Zou has been acquitted by the Special Court (ND&PS) Manipur on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from the case.

While acquitting the former ADC from Chandel district from the case, the court observed that the prosecution has totally failed to prove the charges levelled against Lukhosei Zou and six other accused persons. The court then asked the authority to release him from Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa immediately after completion of formalities.

Mention may be made that Lukhosei Zou was arrested along with drugs worth around Rs 27 crore and 28 kg of amphetamine tablets along with a large amount of hard cash including demonetised notes on June 20, 2018 from his official residence at Lamphel, Imphal West by a team of NAB.
