Imphal, June 20 2022: Among the various initiatives taken up by the BJP government led by chief minister N Biren, CMda Haisi is one of a kind through which any person can lodge their grievances to the chief minister directly and the initiative has been able to address public grievances to a great extent.
The CMda Haisi grievance cell runs from 7 am to 7 pm through toll free number 9534795347 .
Since the initiative was launched, the grievance cell has received various complaints from the public.
The complaints are forwarded to the higher authorities of different department for effective solution.
During a recent Go to Village programme held at Ngaikhong Khunou in Bishnupur district, the stall of CMda Haisi received a written complaint signed by 90 beneficiaries of PMAY, who sought early release of their second instalment under housing assistance scheme.
The team brought up the matter to the department concerned and the fund for the second instalment got transferred into the respective bank accounts of the beneficiaries shortly after the programme.
Consequently, the grievance cell received several calls from many of the beneficiaries, expressing gratitude for the swift response.
Among the complaints received by the cell, complaints regarding irregularities related to CMHT, MGNREGS wages and PDS ration, delay in releasing salary for government employees are most common.
Sometimes, the officials receiving the calls provide immediate solution if they could contact the officials concerned during the call itself.
For other complaints, the officials inform the complainant about the official response from the department or provision of solution within 7 to 15 days.
The grievance cell received 1167 calls during the month of April this year.
Out of these, 800 calls were responded while the others are either disconnected or got missed.
For the missed calls, the officials call back to enquire about their grievances.
Likewise, 967 calls were received in May and 650 in June till date.
There are 60 nodal officers for providing solution to the complainants after bringing up the complaints to the officers concerned.
While some calls are for legitimate complaints, some do not hold any reason or legitimacy to accept complaints.
A total of 106 cases were registered in April and 67 have been resolved while 97 cases were registered in May out of which 86 have been resolved.
CMda Haisi grievance cell along with vigilance and anti-corruption cell has been able to bring down corrupt activities in different government departments.
