Imphal, July 16, 2021: President of BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha Samir Oraon landed in Imphal on a three day visit to the State, today.
He was accompanied by BJP North East Zonal Secretary, Ajay Jamwal and the party State unit president A Sharda Devi, who had left Imphal for Delhi to meet party leaders on July 11 last.
Samir Oraon, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP was accorded a warm welcome by BJP ST Morcha, State unit president, Lanjaigai Kamei and BJP State unit vice president, N Nimbus and others at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.
Speaking to media persons at the airport, Samir Oraon said that he came to attend an executive meeting of BJP ST Morcha at the office of BJP, Manipur.
The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow.
During the meeting, the party members will discuss strategy to strengthen BJP at booth level in ST areas.
Saying that BJP is constantly working for the upliftment of STs, he appealed to the people to have faith in the saffron party and to support them.
Responding to queries raised by media persons, A Sharda Devi said that her trip to the National Capital was to thank the party leaders for appointing her as the president of BJP, State unit.
Sharda also said that she discussed development of the State with different Union Ministers, including BJP National president during her stay in New Delhi.
What was discussed to address the issues of the State, however, will be made public only after due approval from the National BJP leaders, Sharda further said.
