Manipur: 178 new cases detected; COVID positive woman delivered a baby girl

Doctors posted at the PHC assisted in delivering the baby by strictly complying with the COVID-19 protocol. Both the mother and baby are fine and they have been shifted to an isolation ward.

Imphal, Sept 28-2020: The State recorded 178 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.

This is a slight drop from the 200 plus cases reported in the last three days.

According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 178 people including 21 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Swiss Hospital, Jivan Hospital, Kangpokpi, Thoubal, Chandel, Horizon Hospital, Noney, Babina Diagnostics, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Jiribam, Tamenglong, Raj Medicity and Chandel.

The 157 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (33), Imphal East (58), Bishnupur (2), Thoubal (17), Churachandpur (6), Kakching (6), Kangpokpi (3), Chandel (4), Tamenglong (17) and Noney (11).

Out of them, 156 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.

In the meantime, 106 COVID-19 patients have been discharged during the last 24 hours from RIMS (4), CCC UNACCO (29), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (40), Senapati (2), CCC Thoubal (20), CCC Bishnupur (9) and Chandel (2) after they were found free of the virus.

The cumulative figure of COVID-19 positive cases in the State is now 10,477 (general population 8247, Central security personnel 2230). It includes 2431 active cases (general population 1949, Central security personnel 482) and 7982 discharged cases (general population 6237, Central security personnel 1745) .

The recovery rate stands at 76.18 per cent.

A late report informed that 43 samples out of 393 tested today at JNIMS were found infected by the contagion.

Further, out of 172 samples subjected to rapid antigen test at Thoubal today, 43 were found positive.

On the other hand, a woman who has been tested positive for COVID-19 successfully delivered a baby girl at Noney PHC at around 4.40 pm today.
