Left Criticized Tripura Government as ‘incompetence’ in Dealing the Pandemic

Agartala Sept 20-2020: State Secretary of Tripura CPIM alleged the state government as ‘incompetence’ in dealing the Covid19 situation and claimed that it is indulged in unauthorized political interference, which made the job of the frontline workers even harder.

He alleged that the West Tripura BJP in the guise of Rogi Kalyan Samiti has been interfering in the GB Pant Hospital, the largest COVID treatment facility in the State, which prevented the health workers from discharging their duties.

Das replying to a recent comment made by the BJP MP Pratima Bhoumik, where she sought to challenge the eligibility of health workers, said that she had no authority to make such comments that might dishearten the corona warriors.

BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee earlier criticised the communist party on their Massive Gathering at Agartala, which allegedly violated Covid-19 protocol, saying the Communist Party has never followed the norms and guidelines of COVID-19 issued by the Centre and state. At a time, the state government has been constantly fighting against the disease, Manik Sakar who was a long-serving CM of this state remained present in the massive gathering at Agartala today and violated the norms and guidelines of Covid-19.

On the issue of Massive Gathering, the Left leader says “The Chief Minister himself does not follow the social distancing. On the Prime Minister’s birthday, they have organized massive public programmes across the state and nowhere Covid19 restrictions are followed. And, in our case, we always keep our programmes limited”.
