All districts of Manipur have been listed in green zone as per the classification for COVID-19 zones issued by the Union government of districts across states and union territories into Red, Orange and Green zones.
Green Zone: Districts with zero confirmed cases till date or districts with no confirmed cases in the last 21 days.
Red Zone: Districts under this zone will be based on number of active cases, doubling rate of confirmed cases and extent of testing and surveillance feedback.
Orange Zone: District falling neither under Green or Red zones fall under this category.
As per the classification order, all states can consider inclusion of additional districts under Red Zone or Orange Zone depending on the extent of COVID-19 infection. However, states and union territories may not lower the classification or any district which has been included in the Red Zone by the Union Health Ministry.
The districts in Manipur are Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Kamjong, Pherzawl, Churachandpur, Tengnoupal, Tamenglong, Jiribam, Chandel, Senapati, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Noney.
Manipur recorded two COVID-19 cases. Both patients have been treated and discharged.
On march 23, Manipur reported its first COVID-19 case after a 23-year-old girl with a travel history to UK tested positive for the novel coronavirus making her the first COVID-19 patient in the Northeastern region. She was treated and discharged from JNIMS hospital, Imphal on April 12.
Manipur reported zero COVID-19 active case as its second patient, a 56-year old man, who tested positive for COVID-19 on April 2, was also treated and discharged from RIMS hospital, Imphal on April 21.
