CM Biren Visits Dharamshala, NIA to probe into Rengpang Ambush

IMPHAL: Strongly condemning the attack on police commandos at Rengpang area of Noney district on Wednesday, chief minister N Biren vowed that the government will not condone any unlawful activities.
If needed, the case will be handed over to NIA or a higher agency for investigation, asserted the CM while speaking to newspersons during his visits to Dharamshala at Thangal Bazar, site for installation of oxygen plant at Porompat and construction of a Dedicated Covid Hospital in Keirao assembly constituency on Thursday.

The ambush on police personnel on Wednesday was a cowardly act, he contended and said that strict action will be taken up against those responsible.
He further said that no compromise will made in any condition, while informing that Assam Rifles and commandos are investigating the incident at present.

The CM visited Dharamshala at Thangal Bazar and inspected the arrangement of meals to be provided to different hospitals and Covid Care Centres (CCCs) in the state.

Milan Enterprises, Thangal Bazar has been sponsoring the meals provided by Bazar Community to over a thousand inmates who are undergoing treatment at different Covid Care Centres for more than 10 days.

The CM was moved while seeing the arrangement made by the volunteers for providing the service and expressed his sincere gratitude to Milan Enterprises and Bazar community for voluntarily coming out and providing humanitarian service in this crucial time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also stressed on the need to join hands and work together to fight the pandemic successfully.
Biren was accompanied by CAF & PD Minister Thokchom Satyabrata, advisor to CM (Health) Dr Sapam Ranjan during his visit.

From Dharamshala, the Chief Ministerial team headed to Porompat to take stock of the civil work being carried out to install a 20 KL Liquid Medical Oxygen Cryogenic Storage Tank.

Inspecting the plant, CM Biren instructed the officials concerned to speed up the construction work as the said storage tank is likely to reach the state in a couple of days.

Loktak Development Authority chairman L Susindro and principal secretary V Vumlunmang also joined the CM during the inspection.

Later, the Chief Minister inspected the foundation work being carried out for construction of Dedicated Covid Hospital with the assistance of DRDO at Kyamgei Mayai Leikai under Keirao Assembly Constituency.

He instructed the implementing agency to complete the foundation work before the arrival of monsoon in the State and asked MLA Keirao AC L Rameshwor to closely monitor the ongoing works
