Imphal/Kohima: A charge sheet has been filed against the 5 members of NSCN(IM) who were indulged in an extortion racket in Manipur and Nagaland. As per NIA report, these members of NSCN(IM) often used to intimidate several companies undertaking road construction projects in Manipur and Nagaland.
This charge sheet by NIA was filed in the Dimapur court and NIA has booked these members of NSCN(IM) under anti-terror strict UAPA law.
“The case relates to the recovery of ₹1,58,72,800 along with illegal arms, ammunition, explosives, and incriminating documents, from the residential premises of SS Col. Rayilung Nsarangbe of NSCN (IM) and his wife Ruth Chawang,” the NIA said in a statement.
The NIA also informed that this extortion racket was being carried in an organized way and money which were issued for developmental projects was collected by the operatives of NSCN(IM) by intimidating the construction companies in Manipur and Nagaland.
