Cachar police arrests Moulana Enam Ullah in syndicate case

SILCHAR: Cachar police had arrested the controversial Moulana Enam Ullah for his alleged association with coal and Burmese supari (betel nut) racket. Enam Ullah, the expelled general secretary of AIUDF had been picked up by police on Tuesday evening from his Kalain Lakhipur residence. The Moulana had recently been expelled from AIUDF after a sex chat video involving him had gone viral.

Few months back crime branch of Assam police along with Cachar police had launched a massive drive against the coal, Burmese supari syndicate and had arrested more than a dozen. However Enam Ullah, then a central committee general secretary of AIUDF was moving freely though his association with the coal syndicate was known to many. Once the party distanced itself from the Moulana following the viral video, Enam Ullah found himself in deeper trouble as police now nabbed him for his role in illegal trading of coal.
