Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika Tests COVID-19 Positive

GUWAHATI: Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika has tested positive for COVID-19 on January 6.

Further, the result came on Thursday evening and the minister is currently under home isolation.

Taking to his Twitter handle the minister wrote, “Yesterday I tested COVID positive. I have mild symptoms and I am in Home Isolation, following all COVID protocols and guidelines. Those who came in contact with me are requested to take necessary action accordingly.”

On the other hand, Lok Sabha MP from Guwahati Queen Ojha tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. This was informed by the MP herself through her Twitter handle.

“On experiencing mild symptoms of #COVID19, I got myself tested and my test result came positive. Hence, I decided to get admitted to GMCH, Guwahati as advised by my doctors. I request all those who came into contact with me during the last few days to get themselves tested,” she wrote in her tweet.

She was experiencing mild symptoms and therefore got herself tested and the result came out positive.

Meanwhile, the state reported 9 cases of Omicron variant of COVID-19 out of which 3 recovered.
