58th Death Anniversary of Pandit-raja Atombabu Sharma Observed

Imphal: The Panditraja Atombabu Sharma research centre observed his 58th death anniversary at it’s office premises at Sagolband Meino Leirak by maintaining the Covid 19 SOP.

In today’s function, Dr N. Devendra vice president of the Panditraja Atombabu research centre in the chair of president, Retired IIS BB Sharma in the chair of chief guest and Kshetra karyawah RSS assam Kh. Rajen singh in the chair of guest of honor have took part in the programme.

During the function, BB Sharma, Retired IIS had presented an article written by him on the title “Panditraja Atombabu: Doyen of Journalism in Manipur”. He also reflect Atombabu’s contribution on the upliftment of journalism in Manipur as well as in bringing development in art and culture and politics.

He added that, such valuable person have been unnoticed by the people for many decades. But we need to bring back the centre to revive his ideology in the present generation.

The guest of honour of the function, Kh Rajen Singh stated that many valuable books written by Atombabu have been lost in the burning down of State Library. But some books are kept safe by the people who loves his ideology. As those books are written in Bengoli script, today’s young people will not be understand after some decades.

To mitigate the inconveniences, we need to translate it into Meitei Mayek also, He added. As a part of the function, peoples pay homage to the departed souls photograph.
