28,400 students to appear in HSE: COHSEM

Imphal, April 04 2022: Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) chairman Dr L Mahendra has informed that preparations have been finished for smooth conduct of Higher Secondary Examination, 2022 which will be appeared by 28,400 class XII students in 118 centres spread across the state.

Addressing a press meet at COHSEM office, Babupara on Monday, Dr L Mahendra exhorted all the students to do their best even though they faced certain difficulties as classes were conducted online due to Covid-19 pandemic.

He also stated that the exam which will be held from April 7 to May 11 will see 28,400 students appearing in 46 subjects with 27,983 of them in general category and 214 in private category, while 18 candidates will be from Children With Special Needs (CWSN) category.

Out of 16 districts in the state, all except Kamjong and Pherzawl districts will have exam centres with 39 examination centres located in the hill districts and 79 in valley area, he added.

Dr Mahendra continued that a meeting was held with principals of 118 schools that have been designated as exam centres in March during which they were made aware of rules and regulations for smooth conduct of the examination.

Details have also been discussed with the school principals, who will be deployed as officer in-charges (OC) of the examination and flying squad team members along with representatives of CSOs in connection with the examination, he said.

Dr Mahendra further conveyed that exam centre OCs have been directed to strictly follow Covid-19 SOPs as laid down by the government.

He also urged the student candidates to comply with the Covid safety guidelines.
